I am very grateful that I seem to get an amazing--for me anyway--number of visitors to this blog everyday. But I don't get any comments! Except a very few from personal friends. I LOVE comments. Makes me feel a viable part of the blogosphere--and that I'm not just talking to myself. So dear readers...your comments would be most appreciated. Don't be shy. Leave your mark here on my blog! Many thanks!

I can't wait for you to start taking photos in Egypt. You MUST get a digital camera before going, so that you can upload. You know the daily photo blogs? I would place good money on the idea that no one is running a daily photo blog from Port Said!

You know CG--I need your advice on getting a camera. I dont want to spend too much, but I would like one that takes decent enough pics to maybe have published--working on a photo/poetry book about Egypt as we speak. I am sooooo dumb when it comes to choosing a camera--and I also need to know...if I buy one that you can download pics from it right into your PC, does that involve any electricity? Cuz if I buy one here, my electric will be different as you know and I HATE those darn transformers--they never work anyway and fry everything!

Hi this is Julien from expat blog, I had a look to your blog and I liked it!

I just noticed a small bug in the expat blog logo, may I help you to fix it? The link should send visitors to http://www.expat-blog.com/en/directory/africa/egypt/ instead of http://amreekia.blogspot.com/.http://www.expat-blog.com/en/directory/africa/egypt/

Take care,

Julien

I would keep you eye on ebay. I purchased my last camera from there. Don't get caught up in how many megapixels...this really makes a difference for those who actually blow up the images to a larger size.

The Canon PowerShot has good reviews, as does the Nikon coolpix. I wouldn't spend more than $150. I think you'll find used ones on ebay for less.

When you arrive in Egypt don't tell them that you're there to stay. Things like the camera then become taxable items.

Thanks CG---I will start looking for best prices from now. And thanks for the reminder not to let them know I am staying!

I really liked your poem about Ras al Barr! The best of luck with moving to Port Said, looking forward to future blogposts about it.

Thanks for stopping by IAD--Oh for sure, insha Allah, there will be plenty of posts about Port Said! It should get really interesting once the novelty wears off and I start thinking like an Egyptian--haha! But seriously, I'll take life there over life here any day!
