Flight Delay

Well, the sale didn't go as I had planned but alhamdulilah for everything. I am about $2700 short of my "getting to Egypt" goal, which is also roughly the same amount short of my "estate sale proceeds" goal. It's Allah's will. He's trying to teach me patience and to depend totally on Him. I don't even try to second-guess His wisdom. In the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad, I trust Allah and tie my camel. Which means I do my best and Allah does the rest.

I wouldn't be in such a mess if I could sell my car. The problem is I can't seem to get the title. The dealership I bought the car from was raided by the Feds for laundering drug money. Now the whole dealership is under the hands of the US Attorney's office. I have been dealing with them since November of 2005, even paying off the car to the "United States of America" with a certified check. Seems nothing I do can get them to release my title. The attorney in charge of the case doesn't even return my phone calls. I know someone who knows someone who knows the attorney well and am hoping she will make a call on my behalf. And I continue to call daily. I'm doing my best.

Anyway, if worse comes to worse, I will only have to wait until April 1st to book my tickets. I guess that's not so bad. At least it means I can get there, insha Allah--even if a bit later than planned. Alhamdulilah. Alhamdulilah for everything.

It's true that everything happens for a reason. You've waited this long, so another month to sort out the car seems reasonable.

Hey! Welcome CG! Yes, after all this time, it doesnt seem so horrible to wait a bit longer. But I have to tell you, I'm bone tired!!! I just want to get there and rest!!! And this is perfect beach weather--at least to just sit on the sand and soak in the view. The sea heals me--inside and out! Hoping to see you there one day soon for a visit. My house is your house! Love ya!
